Short story: My grandma used to make a dessert called pumpkin roll during Christmas time and I was fascinated.. it looked so complex to my adolescent eyes. Years later my sister made it too and I thought "if she can do it, maybe I can too!" After my first pumpkin roll, years ago in 2014, I let my baking passion blossom and take me to where I am now!
As a youngster, my brothers and our friends would refer to my mom's cooking as "the dankums". We even took it so far as to call Thanksgiving, "Danksgiving"! So the name is somewhat of an ode to the phenomenal woman that raised me!
Presently, Baking Dankums is based out of Koreatown in Los Angeles. I ship non-refrigerated items across the United States and deliver all items to surrounding areas.
